In the summer of 2003, after the demise of the Savannah Symphony, some music lovers revived the Association so the city could continue to hear good live classical music through the year. Fortunately, two excellent venues were available - the Lucas and Trustees Theaters, both newly renovated and reopened. The Savannah Concert Association is a non-profit entity run entirely by volunteers and approved by the IRS for 501(c)3 status. It is dedicated to the presentation of live performances which feature the exciting interplay between musicians and the audience, each stimulating the other. Live concerts are re-creations of masterworks, not recorded re-runs. There is an added bonus to attending classical music performances. They are social events, and you meet many interesting people. Classical music enthusiasts always have a warm welcome for others of the same persuasion. Enjoy the concerts! Savannah Concert Association The Trustees Theatre |
