Mark Steinberg , violin
Serena Canin, violin
Misha Amory, viola
Nina Maria Lee, cello

Guest artist: Todd Palmer, clarinet

Charles Wadsworth recently added another wide plume to his cap, already full of international honors. From December, 2006 to January, 2007 he inaugurated, as artistic director, the new Cartagena International Festival in Cartagena, Colombia. The final concert of the series was sold out to an audience of 3,000 people. The success was so overwhelming that the mayor of Cartagena proclaimed his city to be the cultural capital of Colombia.

From May 25th to June 10th of this year, Wadsworth will host and perform his usual 33 concerts at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston. In addition, he will tour the USA and Canada in March and November of this year — and this is only part of his schedule!

Brentano String QuartetSince its inception in 1992, the Brentano String Quartet has been singled out for its brilliance, musical insight and stylish elegance. Its recent and upcoming festival appearances include the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, Festival Divonne in France, the Bath Festival in England, the Kuhmo International Chamber Music Festival in Finland, Chamber Music Northwest, the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival, Chautauqua, Caramoor Music Festival, the Taos School of Music and the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. The quartet is named after Antonie Brentano, who many scholars believe to have been Beethoven's "immortal beloved" and to whom he wrote his famous love confession.

Todd PalmerTodd Palmer is playing in Savannah for the third time. He has appeared in Spoleto since 1993, and has traveled regularly with the Spoleto USA Chamber Music Ensemble. Well known for his arrangements for clarinet and instrumental groups, he has also been active in the introduction of new works by contemporary composers.
